Roll Characteristics of SST Configuration with Different Outboard Wing Sweepback Angles

Abstract: : Wind tunnel tests were conducted to investigate static roll characteristics of three cranked arrow wings that have different outboard wing sweepback angles to investigate the effect of inboard and outboard vortices upon the wing roll characteristics. Results indicated that breakdown position of leading-edge separation vortex formed on the inboard wing moves upstream as the outboard wing sweepback angle is decreased.
