Abstract:: Wind tunnel tests were conducted to investigate static roll characteristics of three cranked arrow wings that have different outboard wing sweepback angles to investigate the effect of inboard and outboard vortices upon the wing roll characteristics. Results indicated that breakdown position of leading-edge separation vortex formed on the inboard wing moves upstream as the outboard wing sweepback angle is decreased. A large scale rolling moment hysteresis was observed for the wings with smaller outboard wing… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
