Abstract:Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is diabetes that occurs during pregnancy. GDM is characterized by hyperglycemia. Hyperglycemia causes an inflammatory response characterized by the excretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines, one of which is IL-6.
