Abstract:The rotational diffusion of Ca2(+)-ATPase [Ca2+,Mg2(+)-activated ATP phosphohydrolase E.C. 3.6.1.38] was studied in native sarcoplasmic reticulum membrane by saturation transfer ESR spectroscopy after covalent labelling of intramembranous sulfhydryl groups with nitroxyl derivative of maleimide (5-MSL) as a function of sucrose and glycerol in the suspending medium. The relative enzymatic activity of sarcoplasmic reticulum was followed by increasing the viscosity of the aqueous phase. The ATP hydrolysing activit… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
