Rupture of jejunal varices treated with balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration

Abstract: Bleeding from varices arising from outside of the gastroesophageal region is rare. We report a case of ruptured jejunal varices, successfully treated with B-RTO. Our patient was a 60-year-old man with alcoholic cirrhosis who had undergone total gastrectomy two years before he visited our clinic with tarry stool and hypotensive shock.
