Rupture of the Pectoralis Major: A Case Report

Abstract: The rupture of the pectoralis major muscle is a rare entity. It occurs in young, healthy athletes during violent, eccentric contraction of the muscle with the arm held in an abducted and extended position, particularly in weightlifting. Diagnosis of pectoralis major tendon rupture can be made based on clinical examination but imaging plays a crucial role into confirming the diagnosis.
