S3432 Intermittent Superior Mesentric Artery Syndrome Secondary to Aggressive Low-Fat Dieting

Abstract: ammonia mainly through the presence of gut bacteria. The question arises as to how lactulose decreased ammonia levels in this patient without a large bowel. One proposed mechanism is the translocation of bacteria normally found in the large bowel to the small intestine.
