Abstract:A 77 year old man with recurrent lower extremity thrombosis presented with acute onset shortness of breath and new onset hypoxemia three days after prostatectomy for adenocarcinoma of the prostate. He had been off anticoagulation during the perioperative period. In addition to his new diagnosis of prostate cancer he also had a remote history of treated non-invasive melanoma.
