“…One of the limitations of this study is the possibility of extrapolating these results to contexts other than the Valencian Community. The effects that social and economic conditions exert on the health of the population and the distribution of these determinants generate inequalities in health and in the possibility of adopting healthy lifestyles ( 39 ), so that in other populations with different social and economic conditions the results could be different. On the other hand, the handling of the concepts of sedentary lifestyle and physical inactivity presents some difficulties in scientific studies related to nursing, since this discipline recognizes physical inactivity as a diagnosis, catalogued by the NANDA International (NANDA-I) classification as Sedentary Lifestyle (SL) and defined as a lifestyle characterized by a low level of physical activity.…”

“…These interventions incorporate the health perspective in the planning of public policies in non-health sectors, such as housing, labor, education or environmental policies, among others. Among the recommendations proposed for these interventions, grants were included for local entities and non-profit organizations in the Valencian Community that promote the integration of groups with diversity through physical activity and sport ( 39 ). Finally, as the severity index has been identified as the main predictor of the time spent in physical activity by the population of the Valencian Community, if a population-based intervention based on the individual is desired, it would be necessary to take it into account.…”

“…This work consists of a cross-sectional study conducted with the objective of adapting the simplified tool for the HIA of regional policies ( Fem Salut? questionnaire) (13) so that it can be used at the local level. It also aims to design a procedure to facilitate the analysis of the possible health impacts of municipal initiatives, as well as their distribution among the population.…”

“…The Valencian Community, one of the seventeen Spanish autonomous regions, located in the east of Spain and with just over 5 millions inhabitants, is committed to this approach (12). It has a policy framework that regulates it, as well as an instrument to incorporate the framework of social determinants and health inequalities into the policies put forward by the different departments of the regional government (13). After validating the methodology implemented at this level, it is time for the local authorities to act.…”

“…In order to achieve equitable health care and guarantee the provisions of article 27 of Organic Law 3/2007 for effective equality between men and women, it is necessary to continue research into gender inequalities in health and access to health care services. Currently, the integration of a gender perspective in health programs is being promoted (Gil-Borrelli et al 2017;Mas-Pons et al 2018;Puig-Barrachina et al 2019). It is important that the development of these health programs consider the impact of gender roles, norms, and health inequalities.…”
