More recently, an interesting alternative option became available, which allows the CVC to be placed in thrombosed right brachiocephalic or right internal jugular veins through a femoral vein approach with inside-out vein puncture (Surfacer ® device, Bluegrass Vascular Technologies, San Antonio, TX) (Ebner, Gallo, Cetraro, Gurley, & Minarsch, 2013;Quek, Tan, Tan, & Pua, 2019).
