“…30 Furthering Snyder's concept of site change, Planas and Carbonell recommended switching to a subpectoral plane for exposed implants that were initially placed in a subglandular pocket. 23 In 2004, the senior author codified the aforementioned techniques of device salvage into an algorithm for the management of breast device infection and/or exposure. 27 It helped move the topic from one of "do or do not" attempt device salvage to the next level, by shedding light on "how" and "when" instead.…”

“…This is exemplified in case reports and series in which implant preservation was unsuccessful despite a seemingly mild infection. 5,21 We suggest that a prolonged implant exposure time allows for greater colonization of the pocket and shelters a subclinical infection. This infection may subsequently be reactivated despite intense cleansing, resulting in salvage failure.…”

“…Korábban a kapszula formáció kialakulása nem képezte felhasználás indikációját szöveti pótlás céljából. Napjainkban több publikáció jelent meg,a felhasználás más területéről, mint pharyngealis rekonstrukció (8), az emlő áthajlási redő újraképzése (9), implantátum redőzés, gyűrődés korrekciója (10), szabaddá váló implantátum fedése (11).…”
