Sample Selection Algorithms for Enhanced MIMO Antenna Measurements Using Mode-Stirred Reverberation Chambers

Abstract: Abstract-Mode-stirred reverberation chambers (MSRCs) are a useful tool for measuring several wireless-related MIMO antenna parameters. In a conventional single-cavity MSRC, the emulated fading environment is isotropic and the amplitude of the signal is Rayleigh distributed. Previous contributions have enhanced the emulation capabilities of MSRCs so as to include the ability to emulate Rician-and non-isotropic fading environments. In this contribution, arbitrary amplitude probability density functions (PDF) emu… Show more

“…This bears resemblance to the similar issue of finding "the" number of "equivalent" independent stir states from analysis of the ACF for WSS stirring [10], [19]- [25]. In addition to its obvious effect on the accuracy of representing the actual stir data by accounting for a large but incomplete fraction of the stirred energy, the choice of N also has an effect on the rotation and physical interpretation of PCs (cf., Section V-B).…”

“…They are widely used to carry out electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compliance testing for both immunity and emission [3]. Other EMC applications are in the field of shielding effectiveness measurement [4], material absorbing properties characterizations [5], [6], the measurement of the diversity gain [7], and the total efficiency [8], [9]. Recently, it was demonstrated the ability of this EM environment to replicate multipath propagation [10] so making them able to test wireless communication devices [11], [12].…”
