Abstract:Introduction: Comadronas attend most births in rural and urban Guatemala where the maternal mortality rate (MMR) is highest in Latin America. Information has been published regarding rural comadronas’ response to obstetrical emergencies. Understanding urban comadronas’ response to obstetrical emergencies is essential to addressing Guatemala’s MMR.
