Sanitary Status of the Grapevine Germplasm Collection in Republic of Srpska

Abstract: In July 2015, 179 grapevine plants belonging to 16 grapevine autochthonous cultivars were assessed for sanitary status using DAS ELISA test for the presence of: Grapevine fanleaf virus (GFLV), Grapevine leafrollassociated virus 1 (GLRaV-1), Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 2 (GLRaV-2) and Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 3 (GLRaV-3). Furthermore, survey for the phytoplasma presence and laboratory analyses using nested-PCR/RFLP assay was conducted at the beginning of September 2015 on grapevine cultivars … Show more

“…These symptoms indicate the presence of grapevine leafroll-associated viruses (GLRaV-1 and -3), and in particular GLRaV-3, which resulted to be the most prevalent virus in both single and mixed infections. The symptoms here observed fit with those described by Delić et al [ 61 ] on the same cultivars affected by GLD from one vineyard in BiH. The observed delayed growth, leaves with distortions and asymmetry, and shortening of the internodes, all of which are associated with GFDD, were similar to those previously described for GFLV involvement in this disease [ 62 ].…”
