Scalar sector of theSU(3)cSU(3)L<

Abstract: A complete study of the Higgs sector of the SU(3) c SU(3) L U(1) X model is carried out, obtaining all possible cases of vacuum expectation values that permit the spontaneous symmetry breaking pattern SU (3) We find the most general Higgs potentials that contain three Higgs triplets and one sextet. A detailed study of the scalar sector for different models with three Higgs triplets is done. The models end up in an electroweak two Higgs doublet model after the first symmetry breakdown; we find that the low ener… Show more

“…It is noteworthy that V (χ, φ) does not contain trilinear scalar couplings and conserves both the mentioned global symmetries, this makes the Higgs potential much simpler and discriminative from the previous ones of the 3-3-1 models [12,13,15]. The non-zero values of χ and φ at the minimum value of V (χ, φ) can be obtained by…”

“…The number of families in these models is regulated by the values of the parameter β given in the definition of the respective electromagnetic charge [15]. We will consider the 331 model with β = − √ 3 which has a new exotic quark J 3 with electric charge ±4/3 and the bilepton gauge bosons X ±± with masses M X > 850 GeV [15]. The third family of quarks is given by…”

“…In the so-called 331 models, which are based on the SU(3) c ⊗ SU(3) L ⊗ U(1) gauge group [15,16], the cancellation of anomalies requires to have three fermion families. The number of families in these models is regulated by the values of the parameter β given in the definition of the respective electromagnetic charge [15].…”
