Abstract:The scaling theory for critical phenomena is extended to coupled magnetic systems that consist of two subsystems, and some extended relations of critical exponents are derived. It is shown that the extended theory practically reduces to the conventional scaling theory in ferromagnets and in non-ferromagnetic systems with β 1 = β 2 ; however, the extended form of the theory can be relevant otherwise, where β 1 and β 2 are exponents of the order parameters in subsystems 1 and 2, respectively. The theory is appli… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
