This element substitutes for scandium (for up to half of the scandium atoms [6]) to form Al 3 Sc 1(x Zr x precipitates, which are more resistant to coarsening than binary Al 3 Sc precipitates [7]. Addition of Zr also decreases the price of the alloying additions.…”
