Scattering analysis of large-scale array structures using an efficient hybrid CBFM/FEM technique

Abstract: An efficient hybrid technique that combines the characteristic basis function method (CBFM) and the finite element method (FEM) is presented for analyzing the scattering of large-scale array structures which may be dielectrics or metal objects. By utilizing the hybrid method, the whole array structures are divided into several blocks, and a set of the new characteristic basis functions (CBFs) independent of the incidence are generated.
