Abstract:The Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth recalls the mystery of the Incarnation and hides the grotto where the angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would become the Mother of the Messiah. The event of the Annunciation has been described by St. Luke in his Gospel (Luke 1: 26-38). The modern temple was built in the 1960s and replaced the previous, smaller church.
