Scenario-based stochastic optimal operation of wind/PV/FC/CHP/boiler/tidal/energy storage system considering DR programs and uncertainties

Abstract: Background: Micro-grid (MG) can be described as a group of controllable loads and distributed energy resources that can be connected and disconnected from the main grid and utilized in grid-connected or islanded modes considering certain electrical constraints.

“…Hydropower is not only sustainable energy, but it also has great storage capability and flexibility, which make it improve the stability of the grid and help other alternating renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar placement, was further discussed by the author [69]. The authors of [70] proposed a framework for the ideal generation approach of a micro grid that integrates solar photovoltaic materials, wind farms, tidal steam turbines, fuel cells, boilers, and energy-storage devices. The uncertain nature of solar photovoltaic radiation, wind speed, and tidal steam generation affects the quality and quantity of power and market pricing.…”

“…The use of several sorts of game theory approaches to the solution of electric power system problems is covered in depth by Saeed Abapour in [122]. Ehsan Jafari [123] suggested an algorithm for determining the best approach for a microgrid (MG), which includes wind farms (WFs), photovoltaic (PV), fuel cell (FC), combined heat and power (CHP) units, tidal steam turbine (TST), as well as boiler and energy storage devices (ESDs), while taking into account economic and technical constraints and demand response (DR) program. A stochastic optimization problem is envisaged to discover the ideal placement of the generator, while maximizing predicted profit.…”

“…In this paper, different approaches based on the o-D and 2-D computer modelling of the generated power of the combination of estuary barrages/lagoons and tidal stream energy devices are used, and the reliable electricity generation is estimated. Paper [4] proposes a scenario-based stochastic method to optimally perform the operation studies of a micro-grid containing wind turbines, photovoltaic systems, fuel cells, combined heat and power plants, boilers, tidal turbines and energy storage systems. In this paper, different uncertainties including wind speed, tidal stream speed, photovoltaic power generation, electricity price and thermal and electrical loads are predicted using hybrid approach of wavelet transform, improved artificial neural network and imperial completive algorithms.…”
