Scheduling of Generation Stations, OLTC Substation Transformers and VAR Sources for Sustainable Power System Operation Using SNS Optimizer

Abstract: Typically, the main control on alternating current (AC) power systems is performed by the scheduling of rotary machines of synchronous generators and static machines of on-load tap changer (OLTC) transformers and volt-ampere reactive (VAR) sources. Large machines of synchronous generators can be managed by utilizing terminal voltage control when synchronized in parallel to the power system. These machines are typically terminal voltage regulated. In addition, substation on-load tap changer (OLTC) transformers … Show more

“…A Manta ray forage optimizer with non-dominated sorting approach was developed in [5] to solve the multi-objective load flow encompassing solar, wind and small-hydro energy production. In [6], a social network searching algorithm was used to schedule the power network outputs with non-dominated electrical losses and fuel costs. A multi-verse algorithm for minimizing the dynamic ED management issue in electricity frameworks utilizing valve point effects was presented in [7].…”

“…Despite that, only the fuel costs of the committed DGs were handled where the quadratic cost models were utilized for the fuel cells and the micro turbines. In [18], a manta ray foraging optimizer was developed to optimally solve the economic dispatch problem with wind power inclusion considering the valve point effects of the generators, while the wind power effects were ignored in [19,20]. However, the environmental impacts of this operation were not considered.…”
