Knowledge acquisition and skill development should be accessible for all learners within Counselor Education programs. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an educational framework that promotes the creation of an inclusive teaching environment for all learners, including those with disabilities. The UDL guidelines emphasize reducing barriers to learning and enhancing flexibility when delivering course material. This chapter begins with an overview of the UDL guidelines and the associated affective, recognition, and strategic networks. Particular emphasis is paid to applying the UDL guidelines across three teaching modalities: traditional in-person on-campus, blended, and remote learning. This chapter concludes with a Counselor Education case study that examines how counselor educators can comprehensively implement specific UDL strategies into their course design.
