Scientometric Analysis of Dental Implant Research over the Past 10 Years and Future Research Trends

Abstract: Background. We conducted a bibliometrics analysis to explore the recent trends in dental implant research which could help researchers have a clear grasp of the relevant research hotspots and prospects. Material and Methods. Altogether, 15,770 articles on dental implants, from January 1, 2010, to October 31, 2019, were selected from the Web of Science Core Collection. We used BICOMB software to extract the high-frequency MeSH terms and construct binary and coword matrices. gCLUTO software was used for bicluste… Show more

“…It also allows us to be able to analyse historical literature on the subject and related research based on prior analysis 23 ) . CiteSpace is widely used in more than sixty fields, including computer science, information science and medicine to identify recent scientific research 24 , 25 ) . This paper uses CiteSpace 5.6, which is relatively stable and new at present, as our data analysis research tool to conduct a scientometric analysis in the field of BFR.…”

“…HAp used alone or in combination with other materials is a common solution in periodontal bone regenerative therapies [ 3 , 4 ]. The formation of HAp is essential for the integration of dental implants, therefore the use of HAp as a bone substitute material [ 5 ] or as a coating material for the implant surface [ 6 ] is one of the most frequently encountered research topics in oral implantology [ 7 ]. To put in the real value the osteoconductive and osteoinductive qualities of HAp, a series of researches are currently being done in this field to identify the optimal formula for using this material according to the clinical need [ 8 , 9 ].…”
