Abstract:Benazir Bhutto was an influential politician in Pakistan. She was the first female prime minister of an Islamic country, and served twice. Bhutto took a leftist, feminist, and democratic approach to support the poor, to empower women, and to prevent dictatorship. She adopted a capitalist method to facilitate economic growth. Internationally, Bhutto maintained relations with socialist states, but was tough on India and broke off relations with the United States.
