Abstract:FoxO transcription factors (FoxO1, FoxO3a, FoxO4, FoxO6) are a highly evolutionary conserved subfamily of the ‘forkhead’ box proteins. They have traditionally been considered tumor suppressors, but FoxO1 also exhibits oncogenic properties.
