Abstract: Glucose‐6‐phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency is a common enzymopathy that affects red blood cells (RBCs) and renders them susceptible to oxidative stress. G6PD deficiency can cause hemolytic anemia, especially after exposure to certain drugs or infections.
