Scratch Language of Programming vs English Language: Comparing Mathematical and Linguistic Features

Abstract: This paper focuses on Scratch language of programming and traces its math and linguistic features. From a complex consideration about Scratch language programming in linguistic paradigm, focusing on structural, semantic and syntactic features and logic of its narration, this research attempts to clarify specifics of the language and correlate it with the English language features. Global integration of ideas and sciences underline the crucial importance of programming and language conglomerate. Human-computer … Show more

“…EDD quadrants can be compared with Serpinsky's Carpet, which is a set of fractals. Its recursiveness can be embedded in the programming languages (Lazebna et al, 2019). For example, in the Python programming language, Serpinsky's Carpet will look like this: axiom = "YF" rules = {"X":"YF+XF+Y", "Y":"XF-YF-X"} iterations = 1 # TOP: 10 angle = 60 х [habr.…”

“…Scratch is a popular choice of block-based programming languages (Logan, 2019) that consists of a dynamic, attractive, colourful, and simple graphical interface, offering work on projects relevant to everybody's interests such as animations, games, dialogues, simulations, various activities and interactive comics, and share them with the community (Beer & Simmons, 2015). The dynamic features of the Scratch programming environment provide the creation of interactive and media-rich projects (Lazebna, Fedorova, & Kuznetsova, 2019).…”
