Abstract:Background: Hispidin (HIP) and its derivatives, a class of natural fungal metabolites, possess extremely complex and interesting chemical structures with extensive pharmacological activities. Phellinus igniarius, which is the most common sources of HIP, can be used as both medicine and food.
