Sustainability constitutes one of the most important challenges for several industries within the global economy of the 21st century, especially the need to diversify policies to manage national and organizational goals. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) developed by the United Nations (UN) at the Sustainable Development Summit in New York in 2015, based on the Millennium Goals (MDGs) developed by the UN in New York in 2000, have become a major driver for change at the national, industrial, and organizational levels of most countries. This calls for all stakeholders to strategically evaluate their long-term impact and, therefore, implement the appropriate strategies that will enable them to meet these goals and remain in alignment with the social expectations.
