In addition, season of birth is associated with individual differences in chronotype (Mongrain, Paquet, & Dumont, ; Natale & Di Milia, ), which can increase the risk of developing metabolic and mood disorders in adulthood (Erren, Koch, Gross, Reiter, & Meyer‐Rochow, ; Merikanto et al, ; Tonetti, Fabbri, Martoni, & Natale, ; Yu et al, ).
