Seasonal Population Dynamics and Harmfulness of Wheat Thrips in Agrocenoses of Grain Crops

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to identify forage plants and specialized entomophages of wheat thrips in agrocenoses of winter and spring grain crops cultivated in the Samara region. The highest number of adult pests was noted in winter wheat crops (2365.0 ind./100 strokes), the lowest in winter barley crops (565.0 ind./100 strokes). Egg laying by wheat thrip females occurred on all grain crops. Larvae of wheat thrips were noted in the ears of winter and spring wheat, triticale, and winter barley, with the excep… Show more

“…The ease of use of the drone, which anyone can handle with a little training. The use of an unmanned complex allows, in the presence of the same equipment (tractors, seeders, combines), to increase the yield by up to 20% and reduce costs by up to 15% [26][27][28][29][30].…”

“…The resulting models can be used to predict the dynamics of sown areas devoted to sugar beet in the regions of Russia [33][34][35][36][37][38][39]. So, for example, in 2023 the sown area of the Penza region should be 68.3 thousand ha, in 2024 -60.9 thousand ha; in the Krasnodar region in 2013, the area will amount to 231.1 thousand ha, in 2024 -182.9 thousand ha; in general, in the Russian Federation 1112.5 thousand ha and 889.9 thousand ha, respectively.…”

“…It was established that their harmfulness is 1.71 mg of yield per year from the feeding of one species [SAGITOV, ISMUKHAMBETOV 2004]. In addition, plants grown from seeds damaged by the wheat thrips will be more susceptible to abiotic and biotic stress factors, and, consequently, this will reduce their productivity [ZHICHKINA 2014].…”
