The education ministry has refreshed the past school curriculum to the Freedom Curriculum or Kurikulum Merdeka. Ideally, the change of curriculum is alignment with the methods of assessment. In terms of assessments, there are three types highlighted in the new curriculum: diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments. The question arises whether the teachers can really cope with the current issues in assessment. This research aimed to survey the teachers’ perceived skills in assessment and to examine the practices of classroom assessments dealing with the latest issues, including the assessment they used most. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The respondents were 276 teachers from various backgrounds. They were in-service teachers who joined the Teacher Certification Program managed by Universitas PGRI Semarang in the year 2022. Descriptive statistics was used to calculate the data. The results revealed that teachers reported being fairly skilled in doing assessments. However, several subskills in assessment need improvement. Among the three types of assessment, summative was mostly practised by teachers while teachers least frequently conducted the diagnostic. Based on the function, assessment of learning was mostly practised by teachers, while assessment as learning was the least frequently used. The in-service teacher training program curriculum must cover course materials in assessment to better equip teachers with the ability to execute various assessments. For administrators in the eld of education, the data generated in the actual education process is di cult to achieve effective management due to its large amount of information, complex structure and multiple types. However, in the actual construction of education informatization, it is impossible to explore the laws and development trends of education information only by manual analysis, so it is di cult to obtain effective concepts and relevant views. College education administrators can not fully optimize the process of teaching diagnosis and reform through education informatization. Based on this background, this research introduces machine learning technology to achieve technical support for the integrated application of educational data. This paper focuses on the design and construction of an English teaching management data analysis system for college teaching, which combines machine learning technology with multi-source information technology. The system is mainly composed of hardware layer, data layer, service layer and application layer, which can assist teaching and realize learning career planning, faculty authority management, curriculum data modi cation, teaching resource allocation and scienti c research review. The simulation results show that this big data system has high processing e ciency, and is superior to other algorithms in terms of mean value and FVDF extreme value, so it can effectively assist English teaching management. This paper completes the design of English education big data system by introducing machine learning and multi-source information fusion into the eld of education.

Speaking is one of the difficult English skills for non-English department students. This is because students must understand how to produce good and correct sentences to pronounce. To produce a sentence, they must master a lot of vocabulary and master how to pronounce it. In addition, to be able to master speaking skills, students must also have self-confidence. This research aimed to know the problems encountered by Non-English Department students in speaking English and their causes and to find out the problem-solving encountered by non-English majoring students in speaking English. The researcher used descriptive qualitative research with a questionnaire and an interview to collect the data. The results of this study indicate that almost all students find problems (linguistic and nonlinguistic) in speaking English. Linguistic problems that are often found are a lack of grammar, poor pronunciation, and the last is lack of vocabulary. The non-linguistics are anxiety, shyness & lack of confidence. The factors causing the problem of speaking English in this study were low motivation, habits & mother tongue, lack of practice & opportunity, and fear of making mistakes. To solve the problem of speaking English is to improve vocabulary and pronunciation skills. Some ways to improve it are by listening and singing English songs, watching English movies to understand English sentences, and using Google Translate to look up the meaning of difficult words and how to pronounce them. In addition, to improve their speaking skills, sometimes students also practice speaking in English with their friends or independently.
