Security of Supply in Gas and Hybrid Energy Networks

Abstract: Reliable energy supply becomes increasingly complex in hybrid energy networks, due to increasing amounts of renewable electricity and more dynamic demand. Accurate modeling of integrated electricity and gas distribution networks is required to quantify operational bottlenecks in these networks and to increase security of supply. In this paper, we propose a hybrid network solver to model integrated electricity and gas distribution networks. A stochastic method is proposed to calculate the security of supply thr… Show more

“…Rational preventive maintenance decreases the occurrence likelihood of potential failures, [9]. Subsequently, it reduces the risk of supply disruptions [10,11], as is true for all other industrial-and Energies 2022, 15, 4240 2 of 13 service-supply sectors. Less frequent pipe-failures and disruptions in supply distribution obviously improves the profitability of the supply process, [12][13][14].…”

“…At the same time, this plays a vital role in helping to achieve the "double-carbon" goals in the whole energy supply chain [3][4][5]. In order to carry out the green and "double-carbon" transformations in the energy industries, in addition to national policy supports and sufficient funds, it is necessary to accurately assess the "double-carbon" and environmental-protection situations of each node in the energy supply chain so as to put forward the transformation strategy [6,7].…”
