Sedentary behaviour and risk of mortality from all-causes and cardiometabolic diseases in adults: evidence from the HUNT3 population cohort

Abstract: Total sitting time is associated with all-cause and cardiometabolic disease-related mortality in the short term. However, prolonged sitting in specific contexts (ie, watching TV, at work) do not adversely impact health in the same timeframe. These findings suggest that adults should be encouraged to sit less throughout the day to reduce their daily total sitting time.

“…The acipimox was reported to reduce triglyceride and cholesterol levels with comparable outcomes as its parent drug, nicotinic acid [94]. In 2003, it was elucidated that acifran (1) is able to bind with both GPR109A and GPR109B receptors, while acipimox (2) is only able to bind with the GPR109A [63]. The binding of nicotinic acid receptors and their ligands results in the antilipolytic effect.…”

“…It was noted that GPR109A activation is required for antilipolytic activity. Thus, the structural feature of GPR109A as well as its binding with nicotinic acid Recently in 2010, 2-(trifluoromethyl)pyrido [2,3] pyrimidin-4(3)-one (3) possessing fused pyridine and pyrimidinone rings as a core structure was docked onto the human GPR109A receptor. The molecular docking result showed that nitrogen atoms in both pyridine and pyrimidinone rings interact with positively charged residue of arginine 111 in TMH3 of GPR109A as well as using the carbonyl group of pyrimidinone binds to hydroxyl group of serine 178 of ECL2 through hydrogen bonding [96].…”
