Abstract:Millennial‐scale nitrogen (N) cycling processes in marginal seas and their response to climate change have not been well understood. Here, we present high‐resolution (ca. 110 years) organic nitrogen isotope (δ15Norg) data since the last deglaciation (16.1 ka) derived from a highly resolved sediment core in the northern South China Sea, aiming to explore millennial‐scale N cycling processes in this area. Unlike most bulk nitrogen isotope (δ15Nbulk) records from the South China Sea, the δ15Norg records show a cl… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
