Seed-assisted synthesis of TS-1 crystals containing Al with high catalytic performances in cyclohexanone ammoximation

Abstract: Using aluminosilicate zeolites seeds, Al atoms are introduced into the TS-1 crystals, resulting in high Lbvalue and more acid sites, which improve the catalytic activity in cyclohexanone ammoximation.

“…Conventionally, TS-1 zeolite (TS-1) has been used as an industrial catalyst to promote the selective oxidation of some organic compounds, such as the hydroxylation of aromatic hydrocarbons [11], the ammoxidation of ketones [12,13], the epoxidation of olefins [14], and the oxidation of saturated alkanes [15]. Recently, TS-1 has been confirmed as a promising photocatalyst in degradation of organic dye contaminants and selective conversion of propylene [16][17][18].…”

“…Due to the excellent catalytic oxidation performance with H 2 O 2 under mild conditions, TS-1 attracted much attention in the last three decades. TS-1-catalyzed reactions include alkene epoxidation, [2][3][4][5][6][7][8] aromatics hydroxylation, [9,10] ketone ammoximation, [11][12][13] alkane oxidation, [14,15] and other oxidative reactions. [16][17][18][19] Tetrahedrally coordinated Ti (framework Ti, [TiO 4 ]) is the main active center for selective oxidation in TS-1.…”

“…Nevertheless, excessive template material is still required, which is difficult to recycle owing to its thermal decomposition (Zhai et al, 2006). Other alternative approaches are based on the use of inexpensive raw materials (Zhou and Wang, 2000;Wang et al, 2012;Xue et al, 2019). As a cheap template, tetrapropylammonium bromide (TPABr) has been widely used in the synthesis of TS-1 zeolite because of its good thermal stability and low price which is only about one third of that of TPAOH.…”
