Seed Rain in a Degraded Mining Area: The Role of Bird Perches and Pioneer Trees

Abstract: Mining causes changes in natural areas, from the elimination of vegetation and the seed bank to physical changes in the soil and water dynamics. The recovery of such impacted areas depends on both the natural process of secondary succession and the use of techniques that assist the return of the flora.
