Seismic excitation model in probabilistic risk assessment of civil infrastructure
Mohammad R. Falamarz‐Sheikhabadi
Abstract:Realistic risk assessment of civil infrastructure subjected to catastrophic events plays a crucial role in strategic asset management. In this process, visualization of the asset and its environment always possesses some epistemic uncertainty associated with the modeler's simplification/abstraction. The present paper aims at providing a critical perspective into the characterization of the seismic excitation model for risk assessment of civil infrastructures and identifying gaps in the present knowledge.
