Seismic Performance and Design of the Fully Assembled Precast Concrete Frame with Buckling-Restrained Braces

Abstract: Although precast concrete structures have been widely used in building engineering, their application in moderate- and high-seismic zones is restricted because of poor lateral performance. This study proposed a fully assembled precast concrete frame with buckling-restrained braces (PCF-BRB) to simplify construction and enhance seismic performance. A nonlinear finite element model of the PCF-BRB was established using ETABS to investigate the feasibility of its use in seismic regions. The accuracy and rationalit… Show more

“…Some prefabricated structure connection methods are shown in Table 1. Moreover, a strong connection can improve the mechanical behavior and seismic resilience of the nodes [8][9][10][11][12][13][14]. Studies based on prefabricated building structures have been widely reported.…”

“…Among the steel dampers proposed so far, including ADAS [1], TADAS [2], flexural dampers [3,4], BRB [5], semi-BRB [6], and other types of them, the shear damper is highly accepted due to its ease of construction and installation as well as its low cost. Therefore, this article deals with improving the performance of an I-shaped shear damper, which is shown in Figure 1.…”
