Seismic Performance Assessment of a Moment-Resisting Frame Steel Warehouse Provided with Overhead Crane

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the nonlinear behavior of a steel warehouse structured by moment-resistant frames, which utilizes an overhead crane on its interior brackets and as an external load of the weight of the lining panels. The analysis methods used are (i) pushover analysis, which consists of applying an incremental force in the transverse and longitudinal direction to obtain the capacity curve of the structure; (ii) time-history analysis, in which different records of destructive earthquakes… Show more

“…However, both methods are time-consuming and require expertise to perform correctly. For that reason, several methods have been proposed to determine the seismic demand or the performance point of buildings when subjected to earthquake excitation [5] [6], [7] [8] FEMA 356 [9] introduced two methods to calculate the performance or target points. The capacity spectrum method (CSM) [10] is based on transforming the obtained pushover curve that represents the base shear versus the roof displacement into another acceleration displacement response spectrum (ADRS) representation.…”

“…Therefore, the construction industry needs to design a stable and efficient anti-interference controller for the bridge crane system and realize automatic control of the bridge crane system. There are many studies in this field [11][12][13][14].…”
