The spatial distribution of these damaging historical events and those from the instrumental catalogue (Castello et al, 2006;ISIDe, 2010) and revised data (Bagh et al, 2007;Console et al, 1993) show that earthquakes occurring in the central-southern Apennines nucleate within a stretch about 50 km wide along the chain axis (Fig. 3).…”
