Selección del perfil alar simétrico óptimo para un aerogenerador de eje vertical utilizando la dinámica de flujos computacional

Abstract

Vertical axis turbines (VAWT) were designed to generate energy at low power. The turbine performance is defi ned by the blade; the main component of these devices. In this paper, using the software ANSYS 14.0, the NACA 0015, NACA 0018, NACA 0021 and NACA 0025 profi les were evaluated in order the select the profi le with the highest drag-lift ratio and the smoothest lift coeffi cient variation as a function of attack angle. The NACA 0025 profi le was selected due to the dynamic stability showed at Reynolds number and angle of attack assessed. Key Words: BLADE, CFD, AIRFOIL, VAWT. RESUMENLas turbinas de eje vertical (VAWT) surgieron para la generación de energía a baja potencia. La principal parte de estos dispositivos son los álabes, los cuales defi nen el rendimiento de la turbina. En este trabajo, utilizando el software comercial ANSYS 14.0, se evaluaron los perfi les NACA 0015, NACA 0018, NACA 0021 y NACA 0025 para el álabe, seleccionando el perfi l que presentó la mayor relación de los coefi cientes de arrastre-sustentación y una variación suave del coefi ciente de sustentación con respecto al ángulo de ataque. Se seleccionó, el perfi l NACA 0025 por mantener una estabilidad dinámica para el número de Reynolds y ángulo de ataque evaluado.
