Selected Aspects of Using the Telemetry Method in Synthesis of RelNav System for Air Traffic Control

Abstract: Accuracy is an important factor in air traffic management which is why high requirements are necessary for each navigation system. The aim of this article is to describe the principles of the RelNav system and telemetry and their accuracy. We present the algorithms of the relative navigation system, which could be used for air traffic control in the case of the unavailability of satellite navigation system signals. This article sums up the different positioning methods, and deals with the accuracy of the relat… Show more

“…As mentioned in the introduction, in our research we used the knowledge we gained when studying the possibility of using the telemetry method to navigate flying objects in the event of failure of satellite navigation systems signals. Substantial results of this research are presented in [5,24]. These works confirm that poor quality satellite systems signals have a significant impact on aviation safety.…”

“…Assuming the availability of a priori data on existing radio navigation systems and the signals they use for navigation measurements, the present method can be used to analyze these systems for their accuracy and interference immunity. The modeling results show that the interference [24] has a significant impact on the accuracy of the navigation parameter measurement.…”

“…The above described comparison of these characteristics may be used for the quantitative evaluation of an increase in the thrust and the saved input power achieved with the examined engine following the application of the equipment for the rear bypass of the air. [14] This is documented in the relevant Figure with the data on the engine working in the operating point B. In this point, the input power for engines F e1 and F e3 amounted to 300 W. Engine F e1 exhibited the thrust of 250 g and engine F e3 exhibited the thrust of 379 g; the F e3 thrust represented a 1.516-fold change of the thrust F e1 , i.e.…”
