“…GA 3 at high concentration dramatically suppressed sand pear embryo germination. Similar results were reported by Zaman et al (2011) in Convolvulus oxyphyllus . It was suggested that GA 3 at high concentrations could be toxic.…”

“…Giberellic acid accelerates germination by inducing the production of hydrolytic enzymes (Mozer, 1980) and cell plasticity (Taylor and Cosgrove, 1989). Scarification and stratification treatments were able to promote germination and growth of seedling in many of the angiosperms and gymnosperms (Esen et al, 2007), not only in herbaceous but also in tree species like Solanum nigrum (Suthar et al, 2009), Prunus scoparia and Prunus webbii (Heidari et al, 2008) and Aeluropus lagopoides (Zaman et al, 2011).…”

“…The selection of this species for the pathogenicity test was due to its widespread distribution in eastern Iran and the isolation of most isolates of this study was from this plant. The seeds of S. incanescens were collected from Amirabad village (32°52'50"N 59°07'31"E) and incubated after surface sterilization with 0.5% sodium hypochlorite in Petri plates under moist and sterile conditions at 25°C for 24 days (Zaman et al 2010). The germinated seeds morphological characteristics and sequence of 372 bp of ITS region of R2M isolate (Accession number: MG589492) had 100% similarity to the sequence of A. chlamydospora HTCR38 species of NCBI GenBank (Accession number: Mk809953).…”
