Above all, this study is original in that it reveals the efficiency and productivity of banks exposed to the current pandemic situation. The aim of this study is to evaluate bank efficiency and productivity of commercial banks operating in Turkey pre- and during COVID-19 by using a novel integrated multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach. We divided the banks into three groups in order to evaluate the differences in terms of their efficiency and productivity: state banks, foreign banks and private domestic banks. This paper fills a gap in the literature by using a novel integrated MCDM approach including SWARA II as a subjective weighting method, MEREC as an objective weighting method, and MARCOS as a ranking method to evaluate bank efficiency and productivity. The results reveal that banks with foreign investors achieved higher productivity than other bank groups and the productivity of state banks decreased especially during the COVID-19 period. It should also be noted that state banks are restricted to certain political objectives.

How vulnerable are high-income countries to the covid-19 pandemic? An MCDM approach

This paper tries to determine the most vulnerable points of highincome countries during the Covid-19 pandemic in an MCDM setting. For this aim, we use the entropy method to obtain criteria weights and the PIV method for the comparisons. We employ a wide range of criteria that account for political, demographic, capacity, and Covid-19 indicators including vaccination. Our sample consists of 40 HICs. The results reveal that countries with less equitable healthcare systems and with more vaccine hesitancy are more vulnerable to Covid-19. Hospital bed capacity, a strict government policy, and a lower percentage of the population who smoke add to the success of countries in this combat. We compare our findings with SAW and MAUT techniques as well and obtain very similar rankings. Therefore, we conclude that the PIV method can be used for national performance evaluations with a reduced rank reversal problem and computational simplicity.

Digital Logistics Market Performance of Developing Countries

Executing logistics activities based on digital platforms enables logistics and transportation activities to be carried out more effectively and efficiently, reducing logistics costs. For countries to increase their logistics performance and competitiveness at the macro level, the orientation towards digitalization in logistics should be encouraged and successfully managed. This research aims to determine developing countries' digital logistics market performance (DLMP) in 2022. In determining the DLMP, the countries' logistics market performances and digital competitiveness performances were used. In the study, the MEREC method was used to weigh the criteria. The RAFSI method was used to determine the DLMP rankings of developing countries. The DLMP was calculated for nineteen developing countries based on seven criteria. According to the research findings, the technology criterion is the most important criterion among the digital logistics market performance criteria. For the DLMP ranking, China, Malaysia, and Qatar are in the top three developing countries. The last three developing countries are Peru, Colombia, and Argentina. In addition, suggestions were developed for developing countries by comparing DLMP rankings with logistics market performance and digital competitiveness rankings.
