“…Nasreen et al have previously shown that talc was capable of inducing apoptosis in malignant pleural mesothelioma cells but not in benign mesothelial cells. In addition, Lee and co‐workers treated lung adenocarcinoma cells and benign cells obtained from patients with talc, doxycycline and bleomycin. Apoptosis as determined by flow cytometry was observed in lung adenocarcinoma cells exposed to talc, doxycycline and bleomycin, with talc producing the highest apoptotic rates.…”
