Abstract:Selective oxidation of o-nitrotoluene to onitrobenzaldehyde with metalloporphyrins as biomimetic catalysts was studied. The peripheral substituent around porphyrin rings and various process parameters of NaOH concentration, reaction temperature, reaction time and oxygen pressure all affect the selectivity of onitrobenzaldehyde. Further, 82.0% selectivity of onitrobenzaldehyde was achieved under the optimum conditions: 1.0Â10 -5 mol$L -1 of T(p-NO 2 )PPFeCl catalyst, 2.5 mol$L -1 of NaOH, 0.2 mol$L -1 of o-nitr… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
