“…The details of the simulation method can be found elsewhere. 31 The optical response with a dimensionless arbitrary unit (AU) is defined as the logarithmic ratio between the test light intensity (I t ) and the reference light intensity (I r ), as described in eqn (1). The test and reference light intensities correspond to the detection channel filled with the test samples and ultrapure water, respectively.…”

“…More detailed information on the chip fabrication can be found elsewhere. 31 Fig. 1b shows the schematic of the entire sensing system, which consists of an MNWHD2 white light LED (Thorlabs, Newton, USA), FG105UCA multimode optical fibers (Thorlabs, Newton, USA), an optofluidic chip 3DCMOC and a ULS2048LTEC spectrometer (Avantes, Apeldoorn, Netherlands).…”

“…The microlens optical axis either lies parallel in the plane of the chip (II) or perpendicular to it (Ʇ). It is also possible to subdivide microlenses into additionally assembled and self-aligned in terms of their positioning on the chip during the manufacturing process [ 334 ]. Additionally, assembled lenses require alignment, as self-aligned lenses are immediately integrated into the chip at a fixed location and can be performed in a single technique with the chip [ 335 ].…”
