Self Awareness and Mitigation of Learning Loss on Students' Science Learning Outcomes During the Covid 19 Pandemic

Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the correlation between self-awareness, mitigating learning loss, and student science learning outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data was collected using a correlational study, a questionnaire, and data analysis using linear regression using the SPSS 16.00 application. The analysis results found that the correlation value or R correlation between self-awareness and learning outcomes was 0.020. The coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.000. In contrast, the regression between … Show more

“…The differentiated learning approach in the Merdeka curriculum includes content differentiation, process differentiation, and product differentiation. Approaches that can be used include Teaching at the Right Level (Amalia et al, 2024a;Binaoui et al, 2023), Culturally Responsive Teaching (Abubakar et al, 2024), and Digital Integrated Learning (Amalia et al, 2024b;Gisbert & Bullen, 2015) to support a more meaningful and measurable learning process in the Merdeka curriculum for students.…”

“…For example, Richmond, McCroskey, Kearney, & Plax (1987) used a questionnaire on students' perceptions of the teacher's use of behavior change techniques and their perceptions of their classroom learning. Student reports regarding cognitive ability can also be used to measure learning loss (Simal, Mahulauw, Leasa, & Batlolona, 2022). A total of two questions related to the concepts learned and to instructors who teach with a Likert scale of 1-10 (Chesebro & McCroskey, 2000).…”

“…This serves as a critical evaluation of policies or program implementations that are often not followed up on. Institutions that implement regular formative assessments, quizzes, and feedback loops to monitor student progress can identify areas of learning loss and provide timely interventions (Simal et al, 2022). Continuous assessment helps educators adjust their instructional strategies and provide targeted support to meet learning needs (Simal et al, 2022).…”
