Since this review, there have been three large randomised-controlled trials undertaken in Denmark, Australia and the UK (Werner et al, 2013;Cyna et al, 2013;Downe et al, 2015) which studied the efficacy of hypnosis and found no significant reduction in the primary outcome (use of epidural anaesthesia).
