Sensitivity Analysis of Flexible Rotor Subjected to Interval Uncertainties

Abstract: This paper aims at analyzing the sensitivity of the structural response of flexible rotors subjected to uncertain interval parameters. The interval approach encompasses both an uncertainty and sensitivity analyses. The uncertainty analysis consists in computing the interval uncertain structural responses by using the global optimization method. The sensitivity analysis computes the normalized relative sensitivity indices that quantify the degree of importance of each uncertain interval parameter on the uncerta… Show more

“…The natural characteristics in this paper specifically refer to the critical speeds and mode shapes of rotor systems, which are the fundamental points to be taken care of in designing and dynamic analysis. Further, the most concerned is the vibration responses of the systems under imbalance excitations and they are analyzed from different perspectives in the time domain and frequency domain as well as their sensitivities [208]. In practice, the vibrations of a rotor system should not exceed the allowed maximum amplitude to (b) (a) Fig.…”

“…Ma et al [22,23] proposed an interval analysis method based on Chebyshev expansion to analyze the dynamic response of rotors under uncertain parameters. Molina et al [24] analyzed the structural response sensitivity of flexible rotors under uncertain interval parameters. Hao et al [25] established an equation for calculating the natural frequency of a rotor system with uncertain parameters through interval Taylor expansion analysis.…”
